CaP’n Jazz - Analphabetapolothology
(Album Series #186)
Thoughts:
-The album that started it all! Or rather, chronicled the various recordings of the band from the time period that started it all! The Kinsella brothers making beautiful angsty music that pre-dated all the midwestern emo bands that we all adore. And all their individual projects such as Joan of Arc, Owen and the infamous American Football. This double disc coaster is adored by fans of the Kinsellas and emo music alike.
-Best songs include Basil’s Kite, The Sands Have Turned Purple and a cover of the Ah-ha song Take On Me. Several songs from this collection were also inspiration for other bands such as Scary Kids Scaring Kids and We Are Scientists! And of course, can’t forget the always fun Bluegrass. BOYYYYSSSSSS KISSSINGGG BOYSSSSSSSSS is a wonderful hook.
